Started by the Spartan Harriers back in 1903 to commemorate the popularity of walking races in the United Kingdom the original plan for the day was to start at the Montague Bridge to Somerset west and back. The 16th of August 61 competitors started at Greenmarket Square to start an annual race that thousands participate in.
                            
There are 10 different routes to choose from and timed an untimed options ranging from 5 to 80 km’s that all ends at Rhodes high school in Mobray. It has become a part of South African history over the last century and with sponsors like Discovery it contributes greatly to the success of the race.

Come join in a days fun with a scenic walk across the peninsula and be part of a a little bit of history.
